Human RCN2 (Reticulocalbin 2) ELISA Kit
Human RCN2 (Reticulocalbin 2) ELISA Kit
The Human (RCN2) Reticulocalbin 2 ELISA Kit measures Reticulocalbin 2 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human RCN2 antibody. RCN2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human RCN2 Antibody is added and binds to RCN2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated RCN2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human RCN2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Reticulocalbin-2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the RCN2 gene. Reticulocalbin 2 is a calcium-binding protein located in the lumen of the ER. The protein contains six conserved regions with similarity to a high affinity Ca(+2)-binding motif, the EF-hand. The RCN2 gene maps to the same region as type 4 Bardet-Biedl syndrome (MIM:600374), suggesting a possible causative role for reticulocalbin 2 in the disorder. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
