The Human (RECK) Reversion-inducing Cysteine-rich Protein with Kazal Motifs ELISA Kit measures Reversion-Inducing Cysteine-Rich Protein with Kazal Motifs in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human RECK antibody. RECK present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human RECK Antibody is added and binds to RECK in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated RECK antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human RECK. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Also acts as a serine protease inhibitor: negatively regulates Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 (MMP9) by suppressing MMP9 secretion and by direct inhibition of its enzymatic activity (PubMed: 9789069, PubMed: 18194466).
