Human Renin ELISA Kit
Human Renin ELISA Kit
The Human Renin ELISA Kit measures Renin in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human REN antibody. REN present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human REN Antibody is added and binds to REN in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated REN antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human REN. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Renin is a highly specific endopeptidase, whose only known function is to generate angiotensin I from angiotensinogen in the plasma, initiating a cascade of reactions that produce an elevation of blood pressure and increased sodium retention by the kidney. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
