The Human (RNASE7) Ribonuclease 7 ELISA Kit measures Ribonuclease 7 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human RNASE7 antibody. RNASE7 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human RNASE7 Antibody is added and binds to RNASE7 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated RNASE7 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human RNASE7. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Has broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against many pathogenic microorganisms and remarkably potent activity (lethal dose of 90% < 30 nM) against a vancomycin resistant Enterococcus faecium (PubMed: 12244054, PubMed: 12527768, PubMed: 25075772, PubMed: 17150966). Causes loss of bacterial membrane integrity (PubMed: 17150966). Probably contributes to urinary tract sterility (PubMed: 25075772).
