The Porcine (VEGFA) Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor A ELISA Kit measures Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor A in Porcine samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Porcine VEGFA antibody. VEGFA present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Porcine VEGFA Antibody is added and binds to VEGFA in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated VEGFA antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Porcine VEGFA. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
BackgroundGrowth factor active in angiogenesis, vasculogenesis and endothelial cell growth. Induces endothelial cell proliferation, promotes cell migration, inhibits apoptosis and induces permeabilization of blood vessels. Binds to the FLT1/VEGFR1 and KDR/VEGFR2 receptors, heparan sulfate and heparin (By similarity). Binding to NRP1 receptor initiates a signaling pathway needed for motor neuron axon guidance and cell body migration, including for the caudal migration of facial motor neurons from rhombomere 4 to rhombomere 6 during embryonic development (By similarity).
