Bovine IL-1A (Interleukin 1 Alpha) ELISA Kit
The Bovine (IL-1A) Interleukin 1 Alpha ELISA Kit measures Interleukin 1 Alpha in Bovine samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Bovine IL1A antibody. IL1A present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Bovine IL1A Antibody is added and binds to IL1A in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated IL1A antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Bovine IL1A. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Produced by activated macrophages, IL-1 stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL-1 proteins are involved in the inflammatory response, being identified as endogenous pyrogens, and are reported to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells.
