Canine LGALS3 (Galectin-3) ELISA Kit
Canine LGALS3 (Galectin-3) ELISA Kit
The Canine (LGALS3) Galectin-3 ELISA Kit measures Galectin-3 in Canine samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Canine LGALS3 antibody. LGALS3 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Canine LGALS3 Antibody is added and binds to LGALS3 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated LGALS3 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Canine LGALS3. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Galactose-specific lectin which binds IgE. May mediate with the alpha-3, beta-1 integrin the stimulation by CSPG4 of endothelial cells migration. Together with DMBT1, required for terminal differentiation of columnar epithelial cells during early embryogenesis. In the nucleus: acts as a pre-mRNA splicing factor. Involved in acute inflammatory responses including neutrophil activation and adhesion, chemoattraction of monocytes macrophages, opsonization of apoptotic neutrophils, and activation of mast cells. Together with TRIM16, coordinates the recognition of membrane damage with mobilization of the core autophagy regulators ATG16L1 and BECN1 in response to damaged endomembranes (By similarity).
