Canine PGR (Progesterone Receptor) ELISA Kit
Canine PGR (Progesterone Receptor) ELISA Kit
The Canine (PGR) Progesterone Receptor ELISA Kit measures Progesterone Receptor in Canine samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Canine PGR antibody. PGR present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Canine PGR Antibody is added and binds to PGR in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated PGR antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Canine PGR. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
The steroid hormones and their receptors are involved in the regulation of eukaryotic gene expression and affect cellular proliferation and differentiation in target tissues. Depending on the isoform, progesterone receptor functions as transcriptional activator or repressor (By similarity). [Isoform A]: Ligand-dependent transdominant repressor of steroid hormone receptor transcriptional activity including repression of its isoform B, MR and ER. Transrepressional activity may involve recruitment of corepressor NCOR2. [Isoform B]: Transcriptional activator of several progesteron-dependent promoters in a variety of cell types. Involved in activation of SRC-dependent MAPK signaling on hormone stimulation. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
