The Chicken (IL-6) Interleukin 6 ELISA Kit measures Interleukin 6 in Chicken samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Chicken IL6 antibody. IL6 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Chicken IL6 Antibody is added and binds to IL6 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated IL6 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Chicken IL6. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Cytokine with a wide variety of biological functions in immunity, tissue regeneration, and metabolism. Binds to IL6R, then the complex associates to the signaling subunit IL6ST/gp130 to trigger the intracellular IL6-signaling pathway. The interaction with the membrane-bound IL6R and IL6ST stimulates 'classic signaling', whereas the binding of IL6 and soluble IL6R to IL6ST stimulates 'trans-signaling'.
