Equine EPO (Erythropoietin) ELISA Kit
Equine EPO (Erythropoietin) ELISA Kit
The Equine (EPO) Erythropoietin ELISA Kit measures Erythropoietin in Equine samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Equine EPO antibody. EPO present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Equine EPO Antibody is added and binds to EPO in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated EPO antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Equine EPO. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Hormone involved in the regulation of erythrocyte proliferation and differentiation and the maintenance of a physiological level of circulating erythrocyte mass. Binds to EPOR leading to EPOR dimerization and JAK2 activation thereby activating specific downstream effectors, including STAT1 and STAT3. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
