Equine FN1 (Fibronectin) ELISA Kit
Equine FN1 (Fibronectin) ELISA Kit
The Equine (FN1) Fibronectin ELISA Kit measures Fibronectin in Equine samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Equine FN1 antibody. FN1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Equine FN1 Antibody is added and binds to FN1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated FN1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Equine FN1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Fibronectins bind cell surfaces and various compounds including collagen, fibrin, heparin, DNA, and actin. Fibronectins are involved in cell adhesion, cell motility, opsonization, wound healing, and maintenance of cell shape (By similarity).
Involved in osteoblast compaction through the fibronectin fibrillogenesis cell-mediated matrix assembly process, essential for osteoblast mineralization. Participates in the regulation of type I collagen deposition by osteoblasts (By similarity).
Binds fibronectin and induces fibril formation. This fibronectin polymer, named superfibronectin, exhibits enhanced adhesive properties. Both anastellin and superfibronectin inhibit tumor growth, angiogenesis and metastasis. Anastellin activates p38 MAPK and inhibits lysophospholipid signaling.
Probably involved in matrix organization of cartilage. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
