Human ALDOC (Fructose-bisphosphate Aldolase C) ELISA Kit
Human ALDOC (Fructose-bisphosphate Aldolase C) ELISA Kit
The Human (ALDOC) Fructose-bisphosphate Aldolase C ELISA Kit measures Fructose-bisphosphate Aldolase C in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human ALDOC antibody. ALDOC present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human ALDOC Antibody is added and binds to ALDOC in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ALDOC antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human ALDOC. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Aldolase C, fructose-bisphosphate (ALDOC, or ALDC), is an enzyme that, in humans, is encoded by the ALDOC gene on chromosome 17. This gene encodes a member of the class I fructose-bisphosphate aldolase gene family. Expressed specifically in the hippocampus and Purkinje cells of the brain, the encoded protein is a glycolytic enzyme that catalyzes the reversible aldol cleavage of fructose 1,6-bisphosphate and fructose-1-phosphate to dihydroxyacetone phosphate and either glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate or glyceraldehyde, respectively.
