Human APOC1 (Apolipoprotein C-1) ELISA Kit
Human APOC1 (Apolipoprotein C-1) ELISA Kit
The Human (APOC1) Apolipoprotein C-1 ELISA Kit measures Apolipoprotein C-1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human APOC1 antibody. APOC1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human APOC1 Antibody is added and binds to APOC1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated APOC1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human APOC1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Inhibitor of lipoprotein binding to the low density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor, LDL receptor-related protein, and very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) receptor. Associates with high density lipoproteins (HDL) and the triacylglycerol-rich lipoproteins in the plasma and makes up about 10% of the protein of the VLDL and 2% of that of HDL. Appears to interfere directly with fatty acid uptake and is also the major plasma inhibitor of cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP). Binds free fatty acids and reduces their intracellular esterification. Modulates the interaction of APOE with beta-migrating VLDL and inhibits binding of beta-VLDL to the LDL receptor-related protein. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
