The Human (ARHGEF1) Rho Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factor 1 ELISA Kit measures Rho Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factor 1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human ARHGEF1 antibody. ARHGEF1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human ARHGEF1 Antibody is added and binds to ARHGEF1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ARHGEF1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human ARHGEF1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
BackgroundSeems to play a role in the regulation of RhoA GTPase by guanine nucleotide-binding alpha-12 (GNA12) and alpha-13 (GNA13) subunits (PubMed: 9641915, PubMed: 9641916). Acts as GTPase-activating protein (GAP) for GNA12 and GNA13, and as guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for RhoA GTPase (PubMed: 9641915, PubMed: 9641916, PubMed: 8810315, PubMed: 30521495). Activated G alpha 13/GNA13 stimulates the RhoGEF activity through interaction with the RGS-like domain (PubMed: 9641916). This GEF activity is inhibited by binding to activated GNA12 (PubMed: 9641916). Mediates angiotensin-2-induced RhoA activation (PubMed: 20098430). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
