Human ASS1 (Argininosuccinate Synthase) ELISA Kit
Human ASS1 (Argininosuccinate Synthase) ELISA Kit
The Human (ASS1) Argininosuccinate Synthase ELISA Kit measures Argininosuccinate Synthase in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human ASS1 antibody. ASS1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human ASS1 Antibody is added and binds to ASS1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ASS1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human ASS1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
One of the enzymes of the urea cycle, the metabolic pathway transforming neurotoxic amonia produced by protein catabolism into inocuous urea in the liver of ureotelic animals. Catalyzes the formation of arginosuccinate from aspartate, citrulline and ATP and together with ASL it is responsible for the biosynthesis of arginine in most body tissues.
