The Human (ASTN2) Astrotactin 2 ELISA Kit measures Astrotactin 2 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human ASTN2 antibody. ASTN2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human ASTN2 Antibody is added and binds to ASTN2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ASTN2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human ASTN2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Mediates recycling of the neuronal cell adhesion molecule ASTN1 to the anterior pole of the cell membrane in migrating neurons. Promotes ASTN1 internalization and intracellular transport of endocytosed ASTN1 (By similarity). Selectively binds inositol-4,5-bisphosphate, inositol-3,4,5-trisphosphate and inositol-1,3,4,5-tetrakisphosphate, suggesting it is recruited to membranes that contain lipids with a phosphoinositide headgroup (Ref.6).
