Human BAD (Bcl2 Antagonist of Cell Death) ELISA Kit
Human BAD (Bcl2 Antagonist of Cell Death) ELISA Kit
The Human (BAD) Bcl2 Antagonist of Cell Death ELISA Kit measures Bcl2 Antagonist of Cell Death in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human BAD antibody. BAD present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human BAD Antibody is added and binds to BAD in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated BAD antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human BAD. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Promotes cell death. Successfully competes for the binding to Bcl-X(L), Bcl-2 and Bcl-W, thereby affecting the level of heterodimerization of these proteins with BAX. Can reverse the death repressor activity of Bcl-X(L), but not that of Bcl-2 (By similarity). Appears to act as a link between growth factor receptor signaling and the apoptotic pathways.
