Human BMP7 (Bone Morphogenetic Protein 7) ELISA Kit
Human BMP7 (Bone Morphogenetic Protein 7) ELISA Kit
The Human (BMP7) Bone Morphogenetic Protein 7 ELISA Kit measures Bone Morphogenetic Protein 7 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human BMP7 antibody. BMP7 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human BMP7 Antibody is added and binds to BMP7 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated BMP7 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human BMP7. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Induces cartilage and bone formation. May be the osteoinductive factor responsible for the phenomenon of epithelial osteogenesis. Plays a role in calcium regulation and bone homeostasis. Promotes brown adipocyte differentiation by P38 MAPK pathway-mediated activation of target genes, including members of the SOX family of transcription factors (PubMed: 27923061).
