Human BTLA (B- and T-lymphocyte Attenuator) ELISA Kit
Human BTLA (B- and T-lymphocyte Attenuator) ELISA Kit
The Human (BTLA) B- and T-lymphocyte Attenuator ELISA Kit measures B- and T-lymphocyte attenuator in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human BTLA antibody. BTLA present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human BTLA Antibody is added and binds to BTLA in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated BTLA antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human BTLA. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Inhibitory receptor on lymphocytes that negatively regulates antigen receptor signaling via PTPN6/SHP-1 and PTPN11/SHP-2 (PubMed:12796776, PubMed:14652006, PubMed:15568026, PubMed:18193050).
May interact in cis (on the same cell) or in trans (on other cells) with TNFRSF14 (PubMed:19915044).
In cis interactions, appears to play an immune regulatory role inhibiting in trans interactions in naive T cells to maintain a resting state. In trans interactions, can predominate during adaptive immune response to provide survival signals to effector T cells (PubMed:19915044). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
