Human BTNL2 (Butyrophylin-like Protein 2) ELISA Kit
Human BTNL2 (Butyrophylin-like Protein 2) ELISA Kit
The Human (BTNL2) Butyrophylin-like Protein 2 ELISA Kit measures Butyrophylin-like protein 2 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human BTNL2 antibody. BTNL2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human BTNL2 Antibody is added and binds to BTNL2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated BTNL2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human BTNL2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Butyrophilin-like protein 2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the BTNL2 gene. Because it is associated with the immune system and the major histocompatibility complex, it has been implicated in many diseases (see further reading list below). A large scale study found it to be the protein under the most stringent selection in the human genome in 8 out of 12 geographic regions using the HKA test. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
