Human CA12 (Carbonic Anhydrase 12) ELISA Kit
Human CA12 (Carbonic Anhydrase 12) ELISA Kit
The Human (CA12) Carbonic Anhydrase 12 ELISA Kit measures Carbonic Anhydrase 12 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human CA12 antibody. CA12 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CA12 Antibody is added and binds to CA12 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CA12 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CA12. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Carbonic anhydrase 12 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the CA12 gene. Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) are a large family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. They participate in a variety of biological processes, including respiration, calcification, acid-base balance, bone resorption, and the formation of aqueous humor, cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, and gastric acid. This gene product is a type I membrane protein that is highly expressed in normal tissues, such as kidney, colon and pancreas, and has been found to be overexpressed in 10% of clear cell renal carcinomas. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
