Human CA7 (Carbonic Anhydrase 7) ELISA Kit
Human CA7 (Carbonic Anhydrase 7) ELISA Kit
The Human (CA7) Carbonic Anhydrase 7 ELISA Kit measures Carbonic anhydrase 7 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human CA7 antibody. CA7 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CA7 Antibody is added and binds to CA7 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CA7 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CA7. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Carbonic anhydrase 7 (CA7) is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the CA7 gene. Carbonic anhydrases are a large family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. They participate in a variety of biological processes, including respiration, calcification, acid-base balance, bone resorption, and the formation of aqueous humor, cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, and gastric acid. They show extensive diversity in tissue distribution and in their subcellular localization. The cytosolic protein encoded by this gene is predominantly expressed in the salivary glands. Alternative splicing in the coding region results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
