Human CALD (Caldesmon) ELISA Kit
Human CALD (Caldesmon) ELISA Kit
The Human (CALD) Caldesmon ELISA Kit measures Caldesmon in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human CALD antibody. CALD present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CALD Antibody is added and binds to CALD in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CALD antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CALD. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Actin- and myosin-binding protein implicated in the regulation of actomyosin interactions in smooth muscle and nonmuscle cells (could act as a bridge between myosin and actin filaments). Stimulates actin binding of tropomyosin which increases the stabilization of actin filament structure. In muscle tissues, inhibits the actomyosin ATPase by binding to F-actin. This inhibition is attenuated by calcium-calmodulin and is potentiated by tropomyosin. Interacts with actin, myosin, two molecules of tropomyosin and with calmodulin. Also plays an essential role during cellular mitosis and receptor capping. Involved in Schwann cell migration during peripheral nerve regeneration (By similarity). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
