The Human (CBR1) Carbonyl Reductase Nadph 1 ELISA Kit measures Carbonyl reductase [NADPH] 1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human CBR1 antibody. CBR1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CBR1 Antibody is added and binds to CBR1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CBR1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CBR1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
NADPH-dependent reductase with broad substrate specificity. Catalyzes the reduction of a wide variety of carbonyl compounds including quinones, prostaglandins, menadione, plus various xenobiotics. Catalyzes the reduction of the antitumor anthracyclines doxorubicin and daunorubicin to the cardiotoxic compounds doxorubicinol and daunorubicinol (PubMed:18449627, PubMed:15799708, PubMed:17912391, PubMed:7005231).
Can convert prostaglandin E to prostaglandin F2-alpha (By similarity).
