The Human (CCR4) C-C Chemokine Receptor Type 4 ELISA Kit measures C-C Chemokine Receptor Type 4 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human CCR4 antibody. CCR4 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CCR4 Antibody is added and binds to CCR4 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CCR4 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CCR4. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
High affinity receptor for the C-C type chemokines CCL17/TARC, CCL22/MDC and CKLF isoform 1/CKLF1. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G(i) proteins which activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. Can function as a chemoattractant homing receptor on circulating memory lymphocytes and as a coreceptor for some primary HIV-2 isolates. In the CNS, could mediate hippocampal-neuron survival.
