Human CD248 (Endosialin) ELISA Kit
Human CD248 (Endosialin) ELISA Kit
The Human (CD248) Endosialin ELISA Kit measures Endosialin in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human CD248 antibody. CD248 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CD248 Antibody is added and binds to CD248 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CD248 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CD248. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Endosialin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CD248 gene. Endosialin is a member of the “Group XIV”, a novel family of C-type lectin transmembrane receptors which play a role not only in cell–cell adhesion processes but also in host defence. This family comprise three other members, CLEC14A, CD93 and Thrombomodulin the latter of which are better characterized. The function of endosialin remains elusive, but its expression has been associated with angiogenesis in the embryo and uterus and in tumor development and growth. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
