Human CD59 (Cd59 Glycoprotein) ELISA Kit
Human CD59 (Cd59 Glycoprotein) ELISA Kit
The Human (CD59) Cd59 Glycoprotein ELISA Kit measures Cd59 Glycoprotein in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human CD59 antibody. CD59 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CD59 Antibody is added and binds to CD59 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CD59 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CD59. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Potent inhibitor of the complement membrane attack complex (MAC) action. Acts by binding to the C8 and/or C9 complements of the assembling MAC, thereby preventing incorporation of the multiple copies of C9 required for complete formation of the osmolytic pore. This inhibitor appears to be species-specific. Involved in signal transduction for T-cell activation complexed to a protein tyrosine kinase. The soluble form from urine retains its specific complement binding activity, but exhibits greatly reduced ability to inhibit MAC assembly on cell membranes. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
