Human CERK (Ceramide Kinase) ELISA Kit

Human CERK (Ceramide Kinase) ELISA Kit

The Human (CERK) Ceramide Kinase ELISA Kit measures Ceramide Kinase in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human CERK antibody. CERK present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CERK Antibody is added and binds to CERK in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CERK antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CERK. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background Catalyzes specifically the phosphorylation of ceramide to form ceramide 1-phosphate (PubMed: 11956206, PubMed: 16269826, PubMed: 19168031). Acts efficiently on natural and analog ceramides (C6, C8, C16 ceramides, and C8-dihydroceramide), to a lesser extent on C2-ceramide and C6-dihydroceramide, but not on other lipids, such as various sphingosines (PubMed: 11956206, PubMed: 16269826, PubMed: 19168031). Shows a greater preference for D-erythro isomer of ceramides (PubMed: 16269826). Binds phosphoinositides (PubMed: 19168031). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
