Human CETP (Cholesteryl Ester Transfer Protein) ELISA Kit
Human CETP (Cholesteryl Ester Transfer Protein) ELISA Kit
The Human (CETP) Cholesteryl Ester Transfer Protein ELISA Kit measures Cholesteryl Ester Transfer Protein in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human CETP antibody. CETP present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CETP Antibody is added and binds to CETP in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CETP antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CETP. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Involved in the transfer of neutral lipids, including cholesteryl ester and triglyceride, among lipoprotein particles. Allows the net movement of cholesteryl ester from high density lipoproteins/HDL to triglyceride-rich very low density lipoproteins/VLDL, and the equimolar transport of triglyceride from VLDL to HDL (PubMed: 3600759, PubMed: 24293641, PubMed: 3281933). Regulates the reverse cholesterol transport, by which excess cholesterol is removed from peripheral tissues and returned to the liver for elimination (PubMed: 17237796).
