The Human (CFL2) Cofilin-2 ELISA Kit measures Cofilin-2 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human CFL2 antibody. CFL2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CFL2 Antibody is added and binds to CFL2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CFL2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CFL2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Controls reversibly actin polymerization and depolymerization in a pH-sensitive manner. Its F-actin depolymerization activity is regulated by association with CSPR3 (PubMed: 19752190). It has the ability to bind G- and F-actin in a 1:1 ratio of cofilin to actin. It is the major component of intranuclear and cytoplasmic actin rods. Required for muscle maintenance.
