Human CHIA (Acidic Mammalian Chitinase) ELISA Kit
Human CHIA (Acidic Mammalian Chitinase) ELISA Kit
The Human (CHIA) Acidic Mammalian Chitinase ELISA Kit measures Acidic Mammalian Chitinase in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human CHIA antibody. CHIA present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CHIA Antibody is added and binds to CHIA in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CHIA antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CHIA. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Degrades chitin and chitotriose. May participate in the defense against nematodes, fungi and other pathogens. Plays a role in T-helper cell type 2 (Th2) immune response. Contributes to the response to IL-13 and inflammation in response to IL-13. Stimulates chemokine production by pulmonary epithelial cells. Protects lung epithelial cells against apoptosis and promotes phosphorylation of AKT1. Its function in the inflammatory response and in protecting cells against apoptosis is inhibited by allosamidin, suggesting that the function of this protein depends on carbohydrate binding.
