Human CHL1 (Neural Cell Adhesion Molecule L1-like Protein) ELISA Kit
Human CHL1 (Neural Cell Adhesion Molecule L1-like Protein) ELISA Kit
The Human (CHL1) Neural Cell Adhesion Molecule L1-like Protein ELISA Kit measures Neural cell adhesion molecule L1-like protein in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human CHL1 antibody. CHL1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CHL1 Antibody is added and binds to CHL1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CHL1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CHL1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Extracellular matrix and cell adhesion protein that plays a role in nervous system development and in synaptic plasticity. Both soluble and membranous forms promote neurite outgrowth of cerebellar and hippocampal neurons and suppress neuronal cell death. Plays a role in neuronal positioning of pyramidal neurons and in regulation of both the number of interneurons and the efficacy of GABAergic synapses. May play a role in regulating cell migration in nerve regeneration and cortical development. Potentiates integrin-dependent cell migration towards extracellular matrix proteins. Recruits ANK3 to the plasma membrane (By similarity). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
