Human CHST5 (Carbohydrate Sulfotransferase 5) ELISA Kit
Human CHST5 (Carbohydrate Sulfotransferase 5) ELISA Kit
The Human (CHST5) Carbohydrate Sulfotransferase 5 ELISA Kit measures Carbohydrate Sulfotransferase 5 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human CHST5 antibody. CHST5 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CHST5 Antibody is added and binds to CHST5 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CHST5 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CHST5. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Sulfotransferase that utilizes 3'-phospho-5'-adenylyl sulfate (PAPS) as sulfonate donor to catalyze the transfer of sulfate to position 6 of non-reducing N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) residues and O-linked sugars of mucin-type acceptors. Acts on the non-reducing terminal GlcNAc of short carbohydrate substrates. However, it does not transfer sulfate to longer carbohydrate substrates that have poly-N-acetyllactosamine structures. Has no activity toward keratan. Not involved in generating HEV-expressed ligands for SELL. Its substrate specificity may be influenced by its subcellular location. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
