The Human (CHST8) Carbohydrate Sulfotransferase 8 ELISA Kit measures Carbohydrate Sulfotransferase 8 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human CHST8 antibody. CHST8 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CHST8 Antibody is added and binds to CHST8 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CHST8 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CHST8. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Catalyzes the transfer of sulfate to position 4 of non-reducing N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) residues in both N-glycans and O-glycans. Required for biosynthesis of glycoprotein hormones lutropin and thyrotropin, by mediating sulfation of their carbohydrate structures. Only active against terminal GalNAcbeta1,GalNAcbeta.
