The Human (CLASP2) Clip-Associating Protein 2 ELISA Kit measures Clip-Associating Protein 2 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human CLASP2 antibody. CLASP2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CLASP2 Antibody is added and binds to CLASP2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CLASP2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CLASP2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Microtubule plus-end tracking protein that promotes the stabilization of dynamic microtubules (PubMed: 26003921). Involved in the nucleation of noncentrosomal microtubules originating from the trans-Golgi network (TGN). Required for the polarization of the cytoplasmic microtubule arrays in migrating cells towards the leading edge of the cell. May act at the cell cortex to enhance the frequency of rescue of depolymerizing microtubules by attaching their plus-ends to cortical platforms composed of ERC1 and PHLDB2 (PubMed: 16824950). This cortical microtubule stabilizing activity is regulated at least in part by phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase signaling. Also performs a similar stabilizing function at the kinetochore which is essential for the bipolar alignment of chromosomes on the mitotic spindle (PubMed: 16866869, PubMed: 16914514).
