Human CLCA1 (Chloride Channel Accessory 1) ELISA Kit
Human CLCA1 (Chloride Channel Accessory 1) ELISA Kit
The Human (CLCA1) Chloride Channel Accessory 1 ELISA Kit measures Chloride Channel Accessory 1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human CLCA1 antibody. CLCA1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CLCA1 Antibody is added and binds to CLCA1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CLCA1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CLCA1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Chloride channel accessory 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CLCA1 gene. This gene encodes a member of the calcium sensitive chloride conductance protein family. To date, all members of this gene family map to the same region on chromosome 1p31-p22 and share a high degree of homology in size, sequence, and predicted structure, but differ significantly in their tissue distributions. The encoded protein is expressed as a precursor protein that is processed into two cell-surface-associated subunits, although the site at which the precursor is cleaved has not been precisely determined. The encoded protein may be involved in mediating calcium-activated chloride conductance in the intestine. Protein structure prediction methods suggest the N-terminal region of CLCA1 protein is a zinc metalloprotease. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
