Human CNDP1 (Beta-ala-his Dipeptidase) ELISA Kit
Human CNDP1 (Beta-ala-his Dipeptidase) ELISA Kit
The Human (CNDP1) Beta-ala-his Dipeptidase ELISA Kit measures Beta-Ala-His dipeptidase in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human CNDP1 antibody. CNDP1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CNDP1 Antibody is added and binds to CNDP1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CNDP1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CNDP1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Beta-Ala-His dipeptidase is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the CNDP1 gene. This gene encodes a member of the M20 metalloprotease family. The encoded protein is specifically expressed in the brain, is a homodimeric dipeptidase which was identified as human carnosinase. This gene contains trinucleotide (CTG) repeat length polymorphism in the coding region.
The metabolic disorder Carnosinemia may be caused by mutations in this gene. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
