Human CP (Ceruloplasmin) ELISA Kit
Human CP (Ceruloplasmin) ELISA Kit
The Human (CP) Ceruloplasmin ELISA Kit measures Ceruloplasmin in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human CP antibody. CP present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CP Antibody is added and binds to CP in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CP antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CP. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Ceruloplasmin is a blue, copper-binding (6-7 atoms per molecule) glycoprotein. It has ferroxidase activity oxidizing Fe(2+) to Fe(3+) without releasing radical oxygen species. It is involved in iron transport across the cell membrane. Provides Cu(2+) ions for the ascorbate-mediated deaminase degradation of the heparan sulfate chains of GPC1. May also play a role in fetal lung development or pulmonary antioxidant defense (By similarity). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
