Human CTNNA2 (Catenin Alpha 2) ELISA Kit

Human CTNNA2 (Catenin Alpha 2) ELISA Kit

The Human (CTNNA2) Catenin Alpha 2 ELISA Kit measures Catenin Alpha 2 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human CTNNA2 antibody. CTNNA2 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human CTNNA2 Antibody is added and binds to CTNNA2 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CTNNA2 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CTNNA2. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background May function as a linker between cadherin adhesion receptors and the cytoskeleton to regulate cell-cell adhesion and differentiation in the nervous system (By similarity). Required for proper regulation of cortical neuronal migration and neurite growth (PubMed: 30013181). It acts as negative regulator of Arp2/3 complex activity and Arp2/3-mediated actin polymerization (PubMed: 30013181). It thereby suppresses excessive actin branching which would impair neurite growth and stability (PubMed: 30013181). Regulates morphological plasticity of synapses and cerebellar and hippocampal lamination during development. Functions in the control of startle modulation (By similarity).
