The Human (DNAH17) Dynein Heavy Chain 17, Axonemal ELISA Kit measures Dynein Heavy Chain 17, Axonemal in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human DNAH17 antibody. DNAH17 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human DNAH17 Antibody is added and binds to DNAH17 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated DNAH17 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human DNAH17. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Force generating protein component of the outer dynein arms (ODAs) in the sperm flagellum. Produces force towards the minus ends of microtubules. Dynein has ATPase activity; the force-producing power stroke is thought to occur on release of ADP (Probable).
