The Human (DOCK1) Dedicator of Cytokinesis Protein 1 ELISA Kit measures Dedicator of Cytokinesis Protein 1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human DOCK1 antibody. DOCK1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human DOCK1 Antibody is added and binds to DOCK1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated DOCK1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human DOCK1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Involved in cytoskeletal rearrangements required for phagocytosis of apoptotic cells and cell motility. Along with DOCK1, mediates CRK/CRKL regulation of epithelial and endothelial cell spreading and migration on type IV collagen (PubMed: 19004829). Functions as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF), which activates Rac Rho small GTPases by exchanging bound GDP for free GTP. Its GEF activity may be enhanced by ELMO1 (PubMed: 8657152).
