The Human (DPEP1) Dipeptidase 1 ELISA Kit measures Dipeptidase 1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human DPEP1 antibody. DPEP1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human DPEP1 Antibody is added and binds to DPEP1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated DPEP1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human DPEP1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Hydrolyzes a wide range of dipeptides including the conversion of leukotriene D4 to leukotriene E4 (PubMed: 2303490, PubMed: 6334084, PubMed: 31442408). Hydrolyzes cystinyl-bis-glycine (cys-bis-gly) formed during glutathione degradation (By similarity). Possesses also beta lactamase activity and hydrolytically inactivates beta-lactam antibiotics (PubMed: 6334084).
