Human EFNB1 (Ephrin B1) ELISA Kit

Human EFNB1 (Ephrin B1) ELISA Kit

The Human (EFNB1) Ephrin B1 ELISA Kit measures Ephrin B1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human EFNB1 antibody. EFNB1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human EFNB1 Antibody is added and binds to EFNB1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated EFNB1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human EFNB1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background Cell surface transmembrane ligand for Eph receptors, a family of receptor tyrosine kinases which are crucial for migration, repulsion and adhesion during neuronal, vascular and epithelial development (PubMed: 8070404, PubMed: 7973638). Binding to Eph receptors residing on adjacent cells leads to contact-dependent bidirectional signaling into neighboring cells (PubMed: 8070404, PubMed: 7973638). Shows high affinity for the receptor tyrosine kinase EPHB1/ELK (PubMed: 8070404, PubMed: 7973638). Can also bind EPHB2 and EPHB3 (PubMed: 8070404). Binds to, and induces collapse of, commissural axons/growth cones in vitro (By similarity). May play a role in constraining the orientation of longitudinally projecting axons (By similarity).
