Human EIF4EBP1 (Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 4E-binding Protein 1) ELISA Kit

Human EIF4EBP1 (Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 4E-binding Protein 1) ELISA Kit

The Human (EIF4EBP1) Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 4E-binding Protein 1 ELISA Kit measures Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E-binding protein 1 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human EIF4EBP1 antibody. EIF4EBP1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human EIF4EBP1 Antibody is added and binds to EIF4EBP1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated EIF4EBP1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human EIF4EBP1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background Repressor of translation initiation that regulates EIF4E activity by preventing its assembly into the eIF4F complex: hypophosphorylated form competes with EIF4G1/EIF4G3 and strongly binds to EIF4E, leading to repress translation. In contrast, hyperphosphorylated form dissociates from EIF4E, allowing interaction between EIF4G1/EIF4G3 and EIF4E, leading to initiation of translation. Mediates the regulation of protein translation by hormones, growth factors and other stimuli that signal through the MAP kinase and mTORC1 pathways. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
