Human EL (Endothelial Lipase) ELISA Kit
Human EL (Endothelial Lipase) ELISA Kit
The Human (EL) Endothelial Lipase ELISA Kit measures Endothelial Lipase in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human LIPG antibody. LIPG present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human LIPG Antibody is added and binds to LIPG in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated LIPG antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human LIPG. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Exerts both phospholipase and triglyceride lipase activities (PubMed: 12032167, PubMed: 10318835, PubMed: 10192396). More active as a phospholipase than a triglyceride lipase (PubMed: 12032167). Hydrolyzes triglycerides, both with short-chain fatty acyl groups (tributyrin) and long-chain fatty acyl groups (triolein) with similar levels of activity toward both types of substrates (PubMed: 12032167). Hydrolyzes high density lipoproteins (HDL) more efficiently than other lipoproteins (PubMed: 12032167, PubMed: 10192396). Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
