Human EMD (Emerin) ELISA Kit
Human EMD (Emerin) ELISA Kit
The Human (EMD) Emerin ELISA Kit measures Emerin in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human EMD antibody. EMD present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human EMD Antibody is added and binds to EMD in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated EMD antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human EMD. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Stabilizes and promotes the formation of a nuclear actin cortical network. Stimulates actin polymerization in vitro by binding and stabilizing the pointed end of growing filaments. Inhibits beta-catenin activity by preventing its accumulation in the nucleus. Acts by influencing the nuclear accumulation of beta-catenin through a CRM1-dependent export pathway. Links centrosomes to the nuclear envelope via a microtubule association. EMD and BAF are cooperative cofactors of HIV-1 infection. Association of EMD with the viral DNA requires the presence of BAF and viral integrase. The association of viral DNA with chromatin requires the presence of BAF and EMD. Required for proper localization of non-farnesylated prelamin-A/C. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
