Human EMP3 (Epithelial Membrane Protein 3) ELISA Kit
Human EMP3 (Epithelial Membrane Protein 3) ELISA Kit
The Human (EMP3) Epithelial Membrane Protein 3 ELISA Kit measures Epithelial Membrane Protein 3 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human EMP3 antibody. EMP3 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human EMP3 Antibody is added and binds to EMP3 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated EMP3 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human EMP3. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background
Epithelial membrane protein 3 (EMP3) is a trans-membrane signaling molecule that is encoded by the myelin-related gene EMP3. EMP3 is a member of the peripheral myelin protein gene family 22-kDa (PMP22), which is mainly responsible for the formation of the sheath of compact myelin.[5][6] Although the detailed functions and mechanisms of EMP3 still remain unclear, it is suggested that EMP3 is possibly epigenetically linked to certain carcinomas.
