Human EPHB4 (Ephrin Type-B Receptor 4) ELISA Kit

Human EPHB4 (Ephrin Type-B Receptor 4) ELISA Kit

The Human (EPHB4) Ephrin Type-B Receptor 4 ELISA Kit measures Ephrin type-B receptor 4 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human EPHB4 antibody. EPHB4 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human EPHB4 Antibody is added and binds to EPHB4 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated EPHB4 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human EPHB4. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background Ephrin type-B receptor 4 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the EPHB4 gene. Ephrin receptors and their ligands, the ephrins, mediate numerous developmental processes, particularly in the nervous system. Based on their structures and sequence relationships, ephrins are divided into the ephrin-A (EFNA) class, which are anchored to the membrane by a glycosylphosphatidylinositol linkage, and the ephrin-B (EFNB) class, which are transmembrane proteins. The Eph family of receptors are divided into 2 groups based on the similarity of their extracellular domain sequences and their affinities for binding ephrin-A and ephrin-B ligands. Ephrin receptors make up the largest subgroup of the receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) family. The protein encoded by this gene binds to ephrin-B2 and plays an essential role in vascular development.
