Human FCGRT (IgG Receptor Fcrn Large Subunit P51) ELISA Kit

Human FCGRT (IgG Receptor Fcrn Large Subunit P51) ELISA Kit

The Human (FCGRT) IgG Receptor Fcrn Large Subunit P51 ELISA Kit measures IgG receptor FcRn large subunit p51 in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human FCGRT antibody. FCGRT present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human FCGRT Antibody is added and binds to FCGRT in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated FCGRT antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human FCGRT. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background Cell surface receptor that transfers passive humoral immunity from the mother to the newborn. Binds to the Fc region of monomeric immunoglobulin gamma and mediates its selective uptake from milk (PubMed:7964511, PubMed:10933786). IgG in the milk is bound at the apical surface of the intestinal epithelium. The resultant FcRn-IgG complexes are transcytosed across the intestinal epithelium and IgG is released from FcRn into blood or tissue fluids. Throughout life, contributes to effective humoral immunity by recycling IgG and extending its half-life in the circulation. Mechanistically, monomeric IgG binding to FcRn in acidic endosomes of endothelial and hematopoietic cells recycles IgG to the cell surface where it is released into the circulation (PubMed:10998088). In addition of IgG, regulates homeostasis of the other most abundant circulating protein albumin/ALB (PubMed:24469444, PubMed:28330995). (Microbial infection) Acts as an uncoating receptor for a panel of echoviruses including Echovirus 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13, 25 and 29. Source: UniProt Consortium (2025)
