Human FDPS (Farnesyl Pyrophosphate Synthase) ELISA Kit

Human FDPS (Farnesyl Pyrophosphate Synthase) ELISA Kit

The Human (FDPS) Farnesyl Pyrophosphate Synthase ELISA Kit measures Farnesyl Pyrophosphate Synthase in samples. The plate has been pre-coated with Human FDPS antibody. FDPS present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human FDPS Antibody is added and binds to FDPS in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated FDPS antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human FDPS. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Background Key enzyme in isoprenoid biosynthesis which catalyzes the formation of farnesyl diphosphate (FPP), a precursor for several classes of essential metabolites including sterols, dolichols, carotenoids, and ubiquinones. FPP also serves as substrate for protein farnesylation and geranylgeranylation. Catalyzes the sequential condensation of isopentenyl pyrophosphate with the allylic pyrophosphates, dimethylallyl pyrophosphate, and then with the resultant geranylpyrophosphate to the ultimate product farnesyl pyrophosphate.
